What We Do
The Australian Institute of International Affairs is devoted to the promotion, and discussion of, all international affairs and global issues. The Institute hosts an active program of speakers throughout the year focused on both ongoing global issues, as well as current events and issues affecting the world today.
With its headquarters at Dyason House, the Institute houses one of the largest libraries and collections in Australia of international affairs related reading material. By request, the collection can be accessed by its members.
Through the Australian Outlook section of this website, the Institute publishes scholarly and professional articles from various players within the international affairs sphere.
During the year, the Institute also conducts study tours abroad, as well as offering internships to students and volunteer positions throughout all areas of its operations.
The International Careers Conference (ICC) is one of largest International Relations career events of its kind in Australia, which is organised and run by the Institute and attended by hundreds of University students every year.
The ICC’s focus is on providing an opportunity for students interested in pursuing a career in the International Affairs world, the opportunity to meet other like-minded students and hear from different leaders and authorities in the industry about the breadth of opportunities available, as well as the opportunity to seek career advice.
AIIA Victoria also conducts a Young Professionals Forum (YPF) which throughout the year provides young people with an avid interest in the international affairs sphere an opportunity to network and discuss topical issues. More information about this can be found by following us on Facebook, Twitter or by emailing us.
