AIIA Queensland Scholarship Asia Pacific 2017
The Australian Institute of International Affairs, Queensland, wishes to encourage and support Australian students at Queensland Universities to undertake study in the Asia Pacific region. This new scholarship is established in line with the organisation’s mission of promoting understanding and interest in international affairs.
AIIA Queensland will provide this $2000 scholarship annually to support approved educational activity.
The scholarship will be advertised on the AIIA website and through Queensland universities each year, and applications close on 31 August 2016. Selection processes will take place in September.
Using the application form, applicants should provide a statement supporting their application, covering the proposed activity to be undertaken. It should include information on their current course of study, and the endorsement of a relevant academic supervisor. It should also detail any previous international study. Any other funding support for this proposal should be declared. It is not expected that the scholarship will cover all expenses.
All applications must be emailed to email@example.com by 31 August 2017, with the applicant’s name in the subject headline.
************** Applications for 2017 are now open ************************
A selection panel consisting of an academic representative from three Queensland based universities will review all applications and make a recommendation to the Council of AIIA Queensland during September. The successful applicants will be notified as soon as the Council has accepted the recommendations.
The successful applicant must provide evidence of the travel planned before the scholarship is paid, and will provide a report to the AIIA Queensland Council after the educational experience has been completed and the student has returned to Queensland. The successful students may also be invited to give a short talk on their experience at an AIIA meeting of members.
It is expected the funding for these scholarships will be made through donations to the AIIA Queensland.
